Karen is a nine year old child in the third grade. Karen is a student with cerebral palsy, spastic diplegia. She has been referred for school-based occupational therapy services. Her parents and teachers are concerned, as she has had difficulty learning to print or write and is slow to complete her written work legibly. From the screening process, the occupational therapist is asked to evaluate Karen and address her needs, especially with handwriting providing intervention plans. During an initial interview with Karen, she stated that completing written work was an important issue for her and she agreed to work with the occupational therapist to see what could be done.

OT 330 Evidenced Response

Case Study- “Karen”

During an initial interview with Karen, she stated that completing written work was an important issue for her and she agreed to work with the occupational therapist to see what could be done.

As the OT observes in the classroom, Karen is noted to sit and do nothing while her classmates are writing. She is heard commenting to a classmate, “I can’t do this, I’m different!”

*Using the two models of practice that you just learned (CMOP & PEO) how would you approach Karen with your Canadian Model of Occupational performance lens? How would you approach her from a PEO point of view? Similarities? Differences? Discuss your thoughts writing a scholarly narrative while integrating concepts and theoretical perspectives discovered within these models.

OT 330- DISCUSSION BOARD POST- Evidenced Response Rubric- 5 points

Evidenced Responses are critical and analytical responses to a clinical case study or vignette proposed that demonstrate application of an identified frame of reference, model of practice, and or the philosophical underpinnings of the occupational therapy profession. Evidenced Responses are methods of formative assessment used to convey the student’s understanding and application of content through the use of supporting references. In writing Evidenced Responses, students are creating a strong argument to claim their understanding of the theoretical perspective in relation to clinical case examples. (Similar to what you will have to do in practice one day) This assignment aligns with one of our curricular themes: Evidenced Based Practice.

"As a wife, mother, and full-time student, I was struggling to try to go back to school and take care of my responsibilities. Sometimes you just need a little help, and I appreciate all the help I have gotten from Academic Research Bureau. My papers are on-time and the writers are easy to work with. Thanks for the support!"

Universitywritingservices.com has saved me a lot of time. I was tired of taking the same classes many times over again. As an ESL student, my professors were taking points off of my assignments for my grammar mistakes. It made it very hard to feel encouraged to continue with my studies. Thankful for having found an answer for better grades."

As a working student, I just really don't have the time to write paper after paper and complete assignment after assignment. Working full-time and going to school was nearly impossible until I was able to feel comfortable with the writers on this site. They make me feel secure enough to trust them with my papers. While I'm busy with life, they are busy writing my papers. They always do an outstanding job!

After I ordered a dissertation from your writing service, the first paper that I was given did not met my professor’s demand. I set the paper on revision and the writer made the revision for free meeting all my requirements and I was very satisfied
