Evidence-Based Research Application: Pulmonary Diagnosis Critique and Application Find a current, evidence-based article no more than 5 years old related to a pulmonary diagnosis. Write a 2-page APA-formatted critique of the article comparing current pulmonary research in primary care clinical settings (not hospital based pulmonary management or hospital based treatment) to previous pulmonary information from your past clinical experiences or general pool of medical knowledge. Include 1–2 paragraphs in which you document how you could apply your evidence-based research findings to a real or hypothetical pulmonary patient you may encounter in a primary care clinical setting. An example of comparing is locating an article such as one that discusses Community Acquired Pneumonia (CAP). After critiquing the CAP article, you may want to compare how you were taught to administer antibiotics early for all smokers in comparison to the CAP article you critiqued which recommends delaying early antibiotics due to increased risk of antibiotic resistance. Apply your findings to a real or hypothetical pulmonary patient encountered in a primary care practice. An example of application could be stating that in primary care practice, NPs should be reassessing the CAP patient within 48 to 72 hours after the initial visit to assure their symptoms are not worsening.
