Using the material from Chapters 31–33 in Everyday Bible Study (both text and videos), how would you answer the following question? Remember to support your answer using material from Everyday Bible Study as well as the Scriptures.
How is a good study of a particular Bible passage connected to good teaching on that Bible passage?
You are part of the Pastoral Oversight Committee in your church. Part of the responsibilities of this committee is to evaluate the messages delivered by your pastor. The committee notices that he struggles with introducing and concluding his sermons. In general, his introductions seem to ramble on and lack a connection to the main point of the sermon. The conclusions are abrupt and give the impression that he simply ran out of things to say.
Using the material from Chapters 31–33 in Everyday Bible Study, (both text and videos), what 3 pieces of advice would you give to your pastor in order to help him with his introductions and conclusions? Your answer must provide a concise explanation for your 3 pieces of advice. Be sure to support your 3 points and their explanations from both Scripture and from the Everyday Bible Study text.
Replies: Once you have completed the assigned text readings (Everyday Bible Study Chapters 31–36), select 2 threads you wish to reply to and address your classmates’ thoughts and ideas. The content of each reply must reflect an excellent knowledge of the reading and interact with both the thread and relevant chapter material. You must support your thoughts and ideas by quoting from Everyday Bible Study and citing related Scripture.
Submit your thread by 11:59 p.m. (ET) on Monday of Module/Week 7 and your replies by 11:59 p.m. (ET)
